Synopsis

This  unit  introduces students with a background in plant biology  to
major  areas  of current research in plant physiology. Lecture  Topics
include:  Plant Tissue Culture and Biotechnology, Photosynthesis,  the
effects  of  light  on  plant  development,  Nitrogen  Metabolism  and
Secondary  Plant Products.  In the laboratory students gain  practical
experience  in the application of tissue culture techniques  to  plant
research.
