Synopsis

This  unit  takes a critical perspective of sport and  challenges  the
taken  for  granted assumptions that give sport its cultural  capital.
There is an analysis of what stands for sport, who controls it and how
certain interests are privileged and others are suppressed. How  these
issues  affect and shape school physical education and the development
of young children is considered.
