Synopsis
Successful evaluation involves the development of the following
skills:
1 identification of the writer's purpose in presenting his/her work;
2 the ability to relate issues in the set texts to the society in
which each text is set;
3 exploration of the role played by characterisation;
4 examination of the role played by the genre chosen by the writer.
