Synopsis

This  unit  examines the place of information systems  in  the  modern
organisation,  what information systems are, how they are  built,  how
they  affect  the organisation and its employees, and  how  they  make
businesses  more competitive and efficient.  This unit also introduces
new  leading edge topics such as the Internet, electronic commerce and
other issues vital to understanding business in the present decade and
beyond.
