Synopsis

The first section of this unit assists the student to investigate the
major features of employment relations in a comparative context
between Australia and a number of Asian countries. Macro level issues
such as government-employer-union relationships and national culture,
as well as enterprise level issues such as skill formation are
examined. The second section of this unit analyses the human resource
management practices of multinational companies, especially the
management of expatriates. In the third section of this unit students
are required to apply the concepts to analyse practices in a company
of their choice.
