Synopsis

This unit is designed to allow business leaders and managers to
establish and manage teams in their organisations. The first module
examines the management of diversity. By developing competency in this
area managers will be able to assist members of diverse teams to
respect and mobilise differences. The second module in this unit
explores some of the issues associated with forming and maintaining
networks across organisational boundaries. These issues relate to the
question of how to deal with the violation of trust in business
networks, identifying your role as a key actor in a network and how to
implement the concepts of teamnets. This unit shows that managers must
consider the relevance of teams to their organisation or department.
It then goes on to discuss issues related to high performance teams
such as their establishment, leadership, development and maintenance.
