Synopsis

This unit encourages business leaders to challenge their own
assumptions about the nature of organisations. It exposes students to
a broad range of theories and explanations relating to the way
organisations function; explanations drawn from different fields
including applied mechanics, biology and chaos theory. From these
different perspectives, students will be able to identify the
significant levers of influence; those attributes of organisations
that leaders use to manage change and continuity concurrently. The
major outcome of the unit will be the development of a framework for
organisational analysis that leaders can use in their different roles.
