There are four major topics in this unit: plant water relationships, including the effects of soil moisture and environmental conditions on water uptake and loss by plants; mineral nutrition of plants, particularly the effects of nutrient deficiencies; plant growth and development, including the role of plant hormones; and stress physiology.
