Synopsis

The  major  part  of the unit comprises experience  with  a  range  of
advanced  electronic  test  equipment,  electromagnetic  compatibility
measurements and automatic test equipment programmed with a  graphical
programming  language.  Some  training and  experience  will  also  be
provided  on  working  in  teams and on the social  context  in  which
engineering is done. A small amount of time will also be spent sharing
personal  views  on  ethical  aspects of  the  electrical  engineering
industry.  Bachelor  of  Engineering  (Instrumentation  and   Control)
students will spend all of the unit on the above material. Bachelor of
Engineering  (Electrical and Electronic) and  Bachelor  of  Technology
students  will also have experience with telecommunications  phenomena
such as those associated with transmission lines and with a variety of
power electronic systems.
