Synopsis
It is appropriate for teachers and others involved in education to be
given the opportunity to examine fundamental questions about the
nature and purpose of education. Students of Philosophy of Education
may be expected to benefit from a study of some of the underlying
philosophical questions of education. Therefore, the unit includes a
study of the nature of educational aims, the place of ethics in
educational decision making, the concept of mind and its relation to
educational decision making, educational objectives and evaluation and
epistemological problems and the curriculum.
