Synopsis

This  unit enables students to develop an appreciation of the  use  of
information in a variety of decision contexts. It exposes students  to
the financial statements of Australian listed companies, other sources
of  information and empirical research on the use of information.  The
unit  draws  upon  knowledge and skills acquired in prior  studies  in
finance, statistics and accounting. The unit is of benefit to students
majoring  either in accounting or finance, and will be  attractive  to
those  wishing  to pursue careers in corporate treasury, stockbroking,
banking  and  lending, strategic management, and corporate accounting.
As  a requirement of enrolment in this unit, students must have access
to  an  IBM  compatible personal computer with at least 1MG of  Random
Access  Memory,  4MG of available hard disk space, and a  high-density
floppy disk drive.
