Synopsis

This unit comprises five modules. Each student must complete modules,
1, 2, and 3, and either module 4 or module 5. The modules are:

1. the numerical solution of partial differential equations;

2. stochastic process modelling;

3. time series analysis and forecasting;

4. geometric insight into high dimensional engineering problems;

5. advanced numerical methods (multigrid and finite element methods).
