Synopsis

The unit will draw together many areas of knowledge and apply them  to
the field of mining.

The unit is normally undertaken during the final year of the student's
course and it is intended to consolidate the material presented in the
course and develop students' self confidence in their ability to apply
that  to  real  situations. The unit covers such activities  as:  mine
design;  practical mining techniques; mine safety; mining  legislation
relevant   to  the  student's  home  state;  environmental   concerns;
management tools.

The  unit will be assignment based. The student must plan, execute and
document  the work within the time and resource constraints available.
Each assessment will include a professional report.
