Synopsis

Students will build on the generic curriculum approaches developed  in
unit  80951 and explore both theory and practice their first  teaching
area.   They   will  become  familiar  with  the  relevant  curriculum
documents, develop an awareness of the peculiar needs of the  teaching
of  the  subject  and  practice the skills of  lesson  planning,  unit
development, selection of appropriate assessment approaches, selection
and  use of media, technology and other teaching resources and  become
aware of the place of language in their particular subject area. Where
appropriate,  all aspects of laboratory management and  safety  issues
will be covered.

These  subject  areas may include: Art, Business Education/Accounting,
Computer   Studies,  Drama/Theatre,  Economics,  English,   Geography,
History/Studies  of  Society  and Environment,  Legal  Studies,  LOTE,
Mathematics, Music and Sciences.
