Synopsis

While students will build on generic curriculum approaches, they will
undertake more in depth analysis of curriculum theory and practice in
their first teaching area. Having become familiar with the relevant
curriculum documents, and developed the awareness of the particular
needs of teaching, they will now be given further opportunities to
practice the skills of lesson planning, unit development, selection
and design of appropriate assessment strategies, and selection and use
of media, technology and other teaching resources. Various approaches
to assessment will be an important focus of this unit.

The subject areas may include: Art, Business Education/Accounting,
Computer Studies/ITP, Drama/Theatre, Economics, English, Geography,
History/Studies of Society and Environment, Legal Studies, LOTE,
Mathematics, Music and Sciences.
