- Commenced working for University of Southern Queensland as a Fitter and Turner in
August, 1996 manufacturing student projects to specifications supplied by
students and test specimens for practical class work. In 1998 my position was reclassified and
my title changed to Technical Officer (Mechanical) as my work load spread
to include more postgraduate work and a greater level of intricacy of
components. October 2000 seen my
position reclassified again my position now having a greater input into
prototype development and advising staff and students in concept design,
and the functionality of designs. Making suggestion to improve designs and
advising on material selections, costing and sourcing of components. Other
activities include development of a Database for recording and tracing
activities with in the workshop including Asset register, job log and
Maintenance schedules. January 2005 my position was reclassified to Senior
Technical Officer. My duties are expanded to being responsible for the
running of daily activities in the Mechanical Workshop.
- Commenced working for Larges Foundry Pty.
Ltd., Toowoomba in Dec 1984. Trained as an apprentice Fitter and Turner in
September 1987 larges purchased their first CNC Lathe I was trained in
programming, Set up and operation of this machine, providing training to
other staff in programming and operation where required. In 1992 I held the position of Quality
Assurance officer where I was responsible for Quality Control, Procurement
of materials, Reject Analysis, Management of workload and staff job
allocation, I also assisted with customer service and accounts data entry
and continued employment with Larges until August 1996.
