I am married to Ray and I have four children, Rachel (28) married to Nick, Shannon (27), Peter (25) and Justin (24) and two beautiful grandsons, Tennyson (6) and Jackson (2).

   We have two toy fox terriers called Jess (left) and Lolita (right with Tennyson) and two tabby cats, Jimmy and Sumi-Jo,

I was born in Middlesex, England in September 1956 and named after Dawn Fraser, the famous Australian swimmer.

My family migrated to Australia from England in 1964 and we settled in the migrant city of Elizabeth in South Australia.

I moved to Queensland in 1977 and married my husband Ray (left) in 1979. Ray owns an accounting practice.

I completed my marketing studies externally through the University of Southern Queensland. Prior to commencing at USQ, I was employed as the Manager for Business Development for an international engineering consultancy.  My varied work experience includes employment in services marketing, retail, teaching, clerical work and nursing.

I have recently completed the Doctorate of Education program at QUT, where I investigated the development of interactive multimodal technology mediated distance education courses. I have a Masters of Education (with Distinction) Further and Technical Education), Masters of Business (International Business) and a Bachelor of Business (with Distinction) majoring in Marketing and Human Resource Management.  My current research interests are in the areas of marketing education and online education.

In 2003, I won the Pearson Education ANZMAC Marketing Educator Award (left).

 

In 2004, with two co-authors, I won the Emerald Literati Awards' Outstanding Paper accolade for best article published in International Journal of Retail & Distribution Management for our paper titled: Entertainment-seeking shopping centre patrons: the missing segments
