I
am originally from the state of New Jersey
in North East America, situated five minutes
from the city of
Manhattan, New York. In 1978
I joined the United States Air Force, specialising
in administration and human resource.
Later,
I was employed by the U.S. Federal Government,
Internal Revenue Service within Tax Fraud
Investigations. I assisted with special agents
in researching acts of tax fraud.
In
1987 I decided to travel to a part of the
world that was unfamiliar to me, which was
Australia. I arrived as a resident and obtained
employment with the City of Stirling, West
Australia as Information Systems Officer.
My duties were to maintain and control the
majority of information relating to the operations
of the City Council.
March
1989 was the year I began employment with
the University of Western Australia as Records
Officer.
In September 1995 I took up employment with
the University of Southern Queensland as Records
Officer. During this time I took up a project
assignment for one year within the Kumbari/Ngurpai
lag Higher Education Centre. This allowed
me to gain knowledge of indigenous Australian
culture from not only the higher education
sector, but also from social and economic
perspectives.
My present position as Administration Officer
at the Equal Opportunity Office started in
August 1998. It is a pleasure to work at the
Equal Opportunity Office where I can assist
people with their concerns and develop and
implement programs to bring about awareness
of equity issues. I have been involved in
the activities listed on the menu above.
