Welcome to Fiona Darroch's Home PageI am a Lecturer in Information Systems at the Department
of Information Systems, Faculty of Business, My teaching interests are in Systems Analysis and Design, Project
Management and Database Design and SQL. I am course leader of CIS3002 Business Systems Analysis, Design and
Implementation, a final year course in the undergraduate program. I am course leader of CIS8010 Information Systems Project Management,
which is part of the postgraduate program. I moved from industry to academia in 2001 and this has given me the
opportunity to involve myself in the teaching and research sides of the
profession. I have been involved in the computer industry since 1985,
originally working as a senior Project Officer on a large-scale
implementation for a Government department. This included a variety of
responsibilities such as project scheduling, requirements analysis,
development of user documentation, Quality Assurance systems, implementation
support and management of post implementation issues and problems. I then moved to private industry and worked as a Senior Business
Analyst in the banking and travel industries where I also undertook a variety
of tasks relating to project management, requirements analysis, the development
and review of system testing and other methodologies. My husband and I left the city for a sea change to Toowoomba, and we
both returned to university studies. I subsequently spent a number of years
as a Senior Analyst Programmer, in two different organizations. I am
currently studying toward a PhD. Bachelor of Information Technology (with Distinction) Postgraduate Diploma of Business Research Faculty of Business Medallist 1997 University Medallist 1997
