I built this as light as I possibly dared to handle flight loads. 1.6mm fuse sides, 1mm top and bottom.
E_19_1.jpg (20839 bytes) Built around my Astro FAI 05 motor/gearbox. V-tail and weight of 950grs. I run a 14*7 prop and get to a good height in 8 to 12sec. I use 7*1000 cells and get 4 to 5 climbs.

It is used in 7 cell electric comp., 5min flight, spot landing points, Min motor run.

Wing has 6*3mm spruce spars on inner wing and 6*3 balsa spars on outer. Outer wing sheeting is .8mm, inner 1.6mm. Profile is SD7037. E_19_2.jpg (29130 bytes)
E_19_3.jpg (20405 bytes) 2*HS101 servo's are used with V tail mixing.
Ball joints to the ruddervators seem to solve a few problems with angles the surfaces move through.
Carbon fibre shaft fits into aluminium tubes spaning two bays in the wing.I wound some plastic sticky tape around the rod to make it a tight fit. E_19_4.jpg (21972 bytes)
E_19_5.jpg (20356 bytes) Astro FAI 05 motor/gearbox shoehorned into the front.
