This plane was drawn up from a plan at Ezone. I had a A4 sized plan and I just scaled it up to suit
E_amp_1.jpg (26679 bytes) This plane is 1200mm span(48") with an all up weight of  1.25kg. Astro 05FAI with gearbox 7*1400 cells, Clark Y airfoil, rudder, elevator, ailerons and speed control. 3*HS101 servo's and Hitec FM receiver  . A 11*7 prop gave the best compromise of speed and duration(5min). The fully tapered wing took a bit more effort to build but it looks good.
This is my first attempt at a turtle deck, I'll definitely do it again, it's light and looks appealing. All my planes have stearable tail wheels, their so much easer to setup than nose wheels and their also much lighter. E_amp_2.jpg (22953 bytes)
E_amp_3.jpg (23501 bytes) The best part of this plane is the easy access to all the electric's via the big removable hatch
As I only have one Astro05 and easy access to the motor is a must. I mount the Astro by using the heads of the gearbox/motor mount bolts and key them into the front former then use a semicircle back former same dia. as the motor and use a yoke on top screwed into spruce blocks. You can see the back former and yoke in the pic. E_amp_4.jpg (29544 bytes)
E_amp_5.jpg (27697 bytes) I don't have enough radio gear to around so 3/4 of my models are in this state, 'gearless'.
