Inflight movie

This was the first large plane I've built I built the wings first 1.2m each plus 200mm centre , total 2.6m (104") span. A servo in each wing allows flap mixing. I plan to mount a still camera in the fuse (cheapest motorwind I can buy).  In the end I felt I could have made a complete (smaller) model with the material I used in one wing. I'm not sure if I'll build this big again. .

E_tay_1.jpg (31494 bytes) 104" span, 12" cord and 135oz. make this quite lightly loaded and able to carry a payload of a still or video camera without much problem. Makes my Feild Force 7 radio look small.
The fuse and tail are all built up from 6mm sticks and I added 1.6mm sheet to the inside from the wing forward E_tay_2.jpg (29741 bytes)
E_tay_3.jpg (24024 bytes) All this room in the front was where the battery packs were going until the C of G raised it's ugly head. But I guess now I've got plenty of room for that camera.
Thought I'd have problems with it being nose heavy but ended up having to mount the batteries almost on the C of G.
The home built speedcontrol disappears in the front fuselage, it was updated from our standard one to handle the extra voltage (21 cells no load about 36v) the BEC was removed and a couple of low voltage caps. changed to a higher value.
