I built the wings first using carbon fibber rods in wing tubes thinking this would be strong enough to support the total weight. Finishing the wings I found they flexed a lot at the joint, so then I had to add struts as well. I could have saved a lot of weight in the wings if I had designed it for struts first.. E_tay_8.jpg (12265 bytes) HS101servo's in the wings, I had to use two extension leads to get to the receiver. It's a big surface to move and I'm still wondering if I should have used standard servo's.
This was also my first attempt at laminated rounded wing tips, I was pleased because they ended up strong and light. E_tay_9.jpg (22733 bytes)
