Senior Lecturer, Mechanical and Mechatronic Engineering, University of Southern Queensland, teaching and research in the areas of engineering management, technology management and design.

Head, Mechanical and Mechatronic Engineering, University of Southern Queensland. Aside from these duties I have conducted research and development into the mechanisation of blue mould and camembert cheese production for Queensco Unity and South Coast & Warwick Dairy Cooperatives respectively. This has been part of an Innovative Agricultural Marketing Program grant sponsored by Austrade and has involved the USQ Faculties of Business, Sciences and Engineering.

Teaching duties have remain unchanged except with a greater emphasis on projects at honours level associated with my mechanised cheese production research.

Acting Head Mechanical Engineering, University College of Southern Queensland. Duties include educational leadership and management of Mechanical Engineering Programme. Teaching responsibilities in areas of production and industrial engineering, manufacturing, projects and engineering management.

20/6/88 to 4/7/89

Lecturer, School of Engineering, Mechanical Programme, Darling Downs Institute of Advanced Education. Responsibilities for units in areas of production and industrial engineering, mechanics, engineering management and thermofluids. Acted as Head of Mechanical Engineering Programme for two month period from December 1988 to February 1989.

Boiler and Services Engineer, APPM Burnie Mill. Responsible for boilers, turbines, water treatment plant, compressed air system and effluent treatment plant both with respect to operations and maintenance. In charge of 76 personnel.

4/8/80 to 1/6/87

Queensland Electricity Commission (QEC), Callide `A' Power Station, Operations Engineer / Deputy Manager. Direct and manage station operations including chemist section and shift operators. Responsible for fuel, water, and performance accounting. Relieve Manager in his absence. Achieved station target availability of 95% with the best safety and industrial relations record in QEC. Promoted from Engineer Division 2 to Division 4 within four years.

1/12/78 to 4/8/80

Queensland Electricity Generating Board (QEGB), Gladstone Power Station - Assistant Operations Service Engineer. Responsible for performance monitoring and plant fault investigations. Assist operation services engineer as required. Joined section in it's infancy and participated in most of the stations' early plant fault rectification.

1/2/77 to 1/12/78

QEGB Gladstone Power Station Assistant Mechanical Engineer. Responsible for maintenance of coal plant, earth moving plant, gas turbine and assist mechanical engineer as required. One of the first assistant engineers at Gladstone Power Station and thus originated many of the maintenance schedules in said areas.

17/1/72 to 1/2/77

Southern Electricity Authority of Queensland (SEAQ), Cadetship as Mechanical Engineer. Completed first year of fitter and turner apprenticeship. Completed Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree full time at DDIAE with distinction after some part time studies at Queensland Institute of Technology.
