When I was 15, I joined the Historical Motorcycle Club of Queensland (HMCCQ) . One of the members helped me to find the Ariel. I bought it for $40 and restored it for when I got my licence.
After riding it for a year, I bought the 450 Ducati and lent this one to a friend until the registration ran out. He managed to prang it and bend the front forks (not his fault), so I sold it to him and one of his younger brothers still owns it. I believe it was still going strong until stolen!
Unfortunately, I have lost the photos I took of this machine. These B/W photos are all from "Great British Motorcycles of the Fifties" by Bob Currie.
