My wife Karen & I didn't own a car until about a year after our first child was born. We used to put Jodie in a basinette in the sidecar, and she would fall asleep almost as soon as I started the bike.
All the stories about the dramas of learning to ride a bike with a sidecar are true! But once you learn it is great fun. Flipping the sidecar wheel up and doing slides in the wet - all the sort of stuff that you can't do on a bike.
