Meet Ann and the family

I am not yet quite considered a local, having only lived in Plockton for 40 years! In a previous life, I was a physical education teacher, travelling around to the many small schools in the region. However, I love B&B and have done it for many years, until recently with my late husband Dolan. Yes, I even like it first thing on a cold morning, when everyone wants breakfast at once.

This is my wonderful dog Yarrow.

He really loves escorting our guests on tours of the village ... (not it is usually NOT the other way round!)

Cheque the tortoise

My tortoise Cheque is the most pampered person in the household. If you see Cheque in our garden in summer, he will be attached to a shampoo bottle - the only way we know of being able to find him when he disappears between rocks!

At other times of the year he will probably be inside, or sometimes hibernating.

Sponge, my cat

Sponge the cat thinks he owns the place! he's a very inside cat, and loves to curl up on the sofa, or on Yarrow's mat.

My two grown children both live in Edinburgh. My 4 grandchildren, Sam, Catriona, Sean and Daniel visit Herons Flight frequently, and I am very proud of them all! This is an old but favourite shot of Sam and Catriona, photos of Sean and Daniel to come!

I love gardening. There's nothing I like more than to wield a trowel or a spade on long summer evenings.  Heathers grow well along the driveway (see below), I have a vegetable garden and all sorts of other beds, wheel barrows, boats, rockeries etc which get talked to a lot and seem to like us! I even have roses, some Australian gum trees, and what we call palms.
