Heron's Flight

Hamish Macbeth and Wee Jock!

hamis.jpg (71569 bytes) Yes! Plockton is the village where Hamish Macbeth was filmed.....

This TV series achieved cult status, and Plockton's fame spread even further than it had already.

The scenery is stunning and the village 'fits' Hamish down to the ground!
You shouldn't. however, think that all the characters or the plots are characteristic of the real Plockton, which is a lot friendlier and more normal than Loch Dubh is!

The real newsagency near the car park was the location for Rory Campbell's grocers store, while the private house on the opposite corner was the pub. The interior pub scenes were shot elsewhere (in Balmacara). The police station in the TV series was a house which is quite close to Heron's Flight.

Do you remember a bike being ridden across a causeway in an episode of the first series? It belongs to Ann!

Yes, Rory's van IS real, and although it used to live in Plockton, in real life it now lives in Edinburgh with Ann's son John.
