Using the LaTeX Document Processing System

This page contains some general information on the LaTeX document processing system: some tutorial-type information, several examples, plus information on the USQ/FoES dissertation/thesis style files.

The correct address of this page is http://www.usq.edu.au/users/leis/notes/latex/index.html. If you have a different address in your browser's address bar, you are looking at an unofficial copy. In that case the information may be outdated and possibly incomplete, so you should go to the correct link.

The main LaTeX distribution site is the Comprehensive Tex Archive Network (CTAN), which has an Australian mirror.

If you have problems with the material presented on these pages, please consult my FAQ. A complete LaTeX FAQ may be found at the CTAN site mentioned above. If your question is not answered there, or is specific to the material here (such as the BEngDis format), then contact john.leis@usq.edu.au. Note, however, that I will not reply to questions whose answers can be found simply by reading the pages linked at this site.

Note: after downloading any new system components, you should always scan your disk for viruses.
