  • I would prefer to have the materials in a book
  • The Cd is my preferred way of learning
  • Yes catered ok
  • Yes definitely
  • Yes they were helpful
  • Yes there was plenty of different methods available and I found my particular method was well catered for (Reading).
  • The CD based materials were really interesting and made learning enjoyable.
  • Not sure what multimedia enhancements are but did make use of the printable files. I like to have paper in front of me to read through so I can do it anywhere while looking after children etc.
  • Yes definitely it did cater for my proffered learning option
  • Yes.
  • Yes, my learning style was catered for.
  • Yes
  • I enjoy the interactive learning on the CD, but always prefer printed material for ease of scanning.
  • Yes catered well.
  • Yes
  • I felt the CD based material along with the text and selected readings more than adequate.
  • The CD materials were very good and it was a good way of learning what was needed for the unit.
  • I think everything I needed was there.
  • it did not cater fully to my way of learning, because I prefer printed material because the computer can be distracting, and when you have printed material, you can be on your own in your own comfortable space (eg...bedroom) and you can scribble on them too and make little notes...If you try to remember something important from the computer its hard to remember things sometimes.
  • It doesn’t bother me however I have computer problems so it became a hassle to access the materials.
  • I prefer printed materials to be sent out.
  • I liked the cd, it was my first time using one this way, I  was a bit hesitant, and was frustrated having to do the course with the cd, but found it fun, once I accessed material on the cd.  Personally, I liked it, am not sure about kind of representations I would prefer to have supplied.
  • I liked the CD
  • Found it very useful because I could print out want I wanted and highlight etc
  • Yes
  • I found the course very thorough. The study book was not always clear though.
  • The content of the CD was excellent, everything I needed, was there.
  • Both options were good. I can't think of a representation that would be to my liking.
  • Yes
  • They did however, I would prefer to just buy them all printed out.
  • No, I prefer print.
  • I feel that the CD, with the printable option was excellent.  It was great to access it on the CD and then print the necessary documents.
  • Yes!
  • Selected readings are painful when only accessible via computer monitor!
  • Yes
  • You cannot find info again once you have read it on the CD so for this reason I preferred the Book
  • Perfectly, being mostly a visual learner, I was able to jump around between relevant areas on the CD and Print the necessary pages using PDF
  • Not really, I prefer the print based reading.
  • Yes very helpful.
  • Good to have the option of CD or printing the study yourself.
  • Yes, they catered.
  • No. It takes days to reproduce the material just to get to the start point.   Printed notes plus the CD enhancements is there preferable course of action.
  • I definitely needed a printed study guide in hand to guide me through the course. The presentations were great but I needed the hard copy to guide me through what to do/read etc when.
  • Yes.
  • Yes
  • Yes, I was quite happy with the mix.
  • Yes
  • I feel the cd's are an excellent resource, although I also believe that the course booklet is a viable learning material as well.
  • They catered for my style of learning.
  • Yes, I felt they were good and allowed me easy access for printing stuff when I needed to refer to something.
  • All the stuff I have to read I want in hard copy. But the CD should have it all as well.
  • Prefer the book/print style sp that I can highlight he main points
  • Yes.  I would like to have seen review exercises/activities included where the student could complete activities at the end of each model.  For example, the lesson about 'arguments'.  One activity could be to drop and drag text into a not yet completed sentence.  A check box could be provided where an audio sound rings (bells, whistles, cheers and applause perhaps) lets the student know they are successful or (an audio oh no! when they are not). Similar activities could also be created for the note taking exercise as well.
  • Yes, my preferred way of learning is to read material, highlight and make notes and re-read to further understand and refine the knowledge. Having the CD made me focus on specifics and hyperlinking kept me on track.
  • I preferred learning off of written text
  • Yes I liked the CD as often there is a lot of stuff you don't need in a study book, although I would have preferred to have the introductory book printed out as well as it was annoying to have to keep referring to the pdf and it was a little big for me to print
  • Some of the printable files did not work.  Therefore please provide a book for future courses.
  • The more approaches to learning...the better. People seem to learn best by visual approach. If a person has the ability to listen, and this is a major barrier, generally people are not good listeners...so we must find another approach. Personally these views of mine come about because I believe there is an easier way to teach advanced mathematics, however a school in California has found the solution and it is a workshop approach, teaching calculus to grade eight students upwards.
  • Yes
  • Yes
  • Yes
  • I prefer the cd then print in hard copy method
  • This method would prove better to research or find a point than booting the computer and seeking/printing things etc especially when studying late at night in a family household. A hard copy doesn't disturb the sleepers.
  • Yes
  • I am fine with the current situation because what I cannot access from the cd I source elsewhere eg. Library. I am satisfied with the selected reading book provided. It does help in preparation for the assignment.
  • It did.
  • Printed material would be better and don’t have to spend too much time sitting in front of comp
  • I liked that there were printable versions.  I would have liked a small study book to guide me through the cd.  But I do tend to like printed material than CD.  The multimedia enhancements were excellent.
  • Happy
  • I develop eyestrain quickly and find reading for a long time on the screen does not agree with me and I could not afford the ink and paper to print it all out.
  • Yes! Definitely.
  • Yes
  • Yes, they do. There could be a search option within the CD, or an index to allow us to search for it.
  • Yes
  • The CD caters for my type of learning.
  • Yes
  • The CD based program is my preferred method of learning.
  • Yes, it catered for my style of learning.
  • I think the only thing missing was a more detailed example of an oral presentation.
  • They were fine
  • Sure. I prefer cd based materials. bcoz small and convenient. I can find information very easy.
  • I was not completely confident with the CD based materials.
  • Yes it was fine
  • I personally preferred the printed material I received as I was able to work through the modules.  I requested the printed material from the bookshop.
  • Yes they were more than adequate
  • I really do not like reading or studying from computer, so therefore had to purchase hard copy of information
  • Yes because then I had all material on the screen rather than all over the place, I just print what I need
  • The above method works very well, i.e. power point.
  • Yes
  • No, if a cd is used then there should also be a printed material to go with it, this will cater for all needs of students, especially those who are like me and don’t like staring at a computer screen when trying to study.
  • Yes my preferred way of learning was catered for admirably.
  • I wish both were there, I find highlighting an important part of the study process and u just can't do that with CDs, also I find audio another great way to study
  • Yes
  • CD as well as the print out.
  • Yes - it was great to have options.
  • I think that this did cater for my way of learning as I like to print out my material so that I can write notes and read them in a comfortable position or on the way to work
  • Yes
  • Yes
  • I found it hard to navigate my way through the material provided for the course.  I would have liked printed matter only
  • No it didn’t cater for my way of learning, this was because we actually had to go out a buy a printer. With the study book you can just flip back and forward and have that book next to the assignmnet your doing. With the CD you have to navigate and then print and then you can flip back and forward.
  • Absolutely - initially I did not like the idea as I was used to print based only, but once I got started I found it very useful and the audio presentations very helpful.
  • Yes they catered to my way of learning. this way I can limit the information to what I need at the time I need it.I was impressed.
  • CD based materials are great
  • Very satisfied!
  • YES
  • I feel the CD based material, used with the books, catered for my style of study.
  • YES
  • Yes absolutely.
  • Sometimes, I would print the files. It is effective to revise the main-point. Let me get the point and imagination of essay and report.
  • Yes, but I liked having the selected readings in a printed format so I could read away from the computer.
  • Don't know.
  • I think the options were enough as I print what I need.
  • Yes
  • I think the CD in combination with a printed study guide would have been my preference.
  • The CD based materials were great to have but did not cater to my preferred way of learning. I find it tedious spending so much time in front of a computer as I feel I already spend too much time at the computer doing assignments and accessing study desk.
  • I prefer to read my materials off a hard copy so I ordered the printed version through the bookshop. This is because I lose my place very easily reading off the computer and it was too expensive to print all the materials at home.
  • Again, the CD format and materials were great for me. Suited my way of learning - ppt presentations are always helpful in understanding material & you can print info only of interest/help to the individual student.
  • Yes
  • Yes I feel it did cater to my preferred way of learning.
  • Yes. I am a visual/auditory learner foremost.
  • I enjoyed using the CD but did miss having a written format at times. When I wanted to see where I should be with my reading it meant I had to turn on the computer which is not always convenient. Thinking back, if had material presented this way I would print out this type of information, I did not think of it at the time. Too much else to take in.
  • THIS IS MY PREFERRED WAY OF LEARNING - PRINTABLE FILES = SOUND AND DIAGRAMS AS INDICATED ABOVE
  • When already paying for the course, I feel it a bit harsh that you need to pay extra for a study booklet of print it off yourself.
  • Yes, the existing CD based materials caters well to my way of learning.
  • Yes
  • Yes
  • This is my first uni course so I don't really know what to compare it to but the CD was an excellent way of sending the information.
  • Printable version of slides supplied free of charge
  • Yes
  • Little control over speed of delivery. Paper based delivery much faster. That is, can learn faster. This is a time effectiveness/efficiency issue. Need to ensure materials are easily printable as some students may lack software to make materials printable.
  • Have not tried any other way of learning as was my first subject, so cannot comment reliably. However , all information was easily accessible.
  • Yes they catered for my style of learning.
  • The CD is effective.
  • CD is the best way of learning for myself
  • Prefer all introductory information materials were provided. and study guide already printed is very helpful for perusal at hand at any point in the day to keep on track. Personally feel I sit at a computer for long enough doing assessment pieces then having to study off the monitor as well...
  • A study book is still helpful. I found having to look up the CD a little more time consuming than if I'd had the info in hard copy format - but that's just my personal learning style.
  • It was nice to have the option of CD based materials there as it is another resource that is available to help students.
  • Yes they did
  • No. Reading it myself helps me learn I am visual not audio. I tend to tune out
  • Yes
  • As previously stated, I have a preference for all materials to be printed, having an additional CD with animated presentations is a great advancement especially for external students.
  • I wouldn't say it 'catered for your (or my) preferred way of learning'. I like to learn from reading book, learning from CD is pretty much a new experience and somewhat uncomfortable to me. I like to touch and feel the book when reading. Feel the hardcover, book marking, sketching footnotes and flicking pages with my own fingers. A CD could never do that, and that is what missing.
  • YES
  • I found the CD based learning very good, but I must admit I also like print and purchased the SB etc from the bookshop. That is only because I may like to read at night in bed and not be at the computer. BUT the CD is certainly an improvement on print only. A big improvement. I guess if I had to choose I would take the CD and print what I needed from there.
  • Being able to attend class is still in my opinion preferable. However due to work commitments this would not be practical, so the CD based materials with the multimedia enhancements helped to fill the gap left by not being unable to attend classes.
  • Yes, however if a sheet with lecture main points and what was required for learning was also included, that would be beneficial
  • The CD based materials catered well for my way of learning. I found it a good idea to print out only what I wanted.
  • Yes it did.
  • Yes, I felt that the cd based material was conducive to my way of learning.
  • The CD based materials complemented the printed media as far as I was concerned.
  • I had never used a CD based program before and found it difficult at first. I would like print based as well, to refer to and highlight when I wished too.
  • Printable materials stopped the CD from being a complete waste of time for me.
  • I encountered problems where I failed to print the pages I actually selected to print. As a result, I wasted many pieces trying to print out the desired pages or I would give up printing in the end. I would prefer it in printed form for easy access.
