Ralph painted a variety of scenes depicting different sites of historical
and personal interest. His interests extended to the rural and seascapes,
buildings and sites of historical interest.
Ralph's paintings have been displayed in the Toowoomba City Hall, the Toowoomba Hospital Chapel, the 25th Battalion Officers Mess Hall, but sadly some of these works have gone missing and only black and white copies could be shown here.

| As a founding member, president and secretary of the Toowoomba Art Society, Ralph detailed in written and in pictorial diaries the information regarding the Darling Downs during the 1930's. He was a "plain air" enthusiast and accompanied the late Herbert Carstens on many painting excursions. | |

Henry Drive This large oil paining pictures the road prior to the 1950's when it was sealed with bitumen. It provides a valuable historical record of the Toowoomba Range area.
