The Weppner Artists Site has been designed to provide easy viewing and printing of the information. There is a range of programs to browse web sites that can be used and each have different settings that can be used to optimise the browsing and printing features of this site.
The size of the font can be increased in each browser to assist people with poor vision, images can be displayed or hidden and printing can be changed to modify how the information appears on paper.
Check you Browser Brand and Version
To check which browsers and version you are using:
- Choose Help About ...
from the menu
If you require further assistance click on the link at the bottom of each page and email your questions or suggestions using the form provided.
Internet Explorer 6
Internet Explorer (IE) 6 can print pages as viewed on the screen and can increase the font sizes on the screen for easier viewing, but does not alter the printing size.
Printing
To Print Backgrounds:
The page banner will normally not print, as designed, to save ink and speed
printing.
To print pages as they appear on the screen:
- Choose Tools Internet Options
- Select the Advanced tab
- Select the Printing Option:
Print background colours and images
IE 6 does not have a scale to fit print feature to fit the web page on a
printed page without text loss.
Font Size
To increase the screen font size:
- Choose View Text Size
- Choose size from Largest to Smallest
Mozilla Firefox 1.0
The new Firefox 1.0 browser has settings that can control backgrounds, size printing, resize pages to fit a paper size and a simple keyboard control to change the screen font size.
To fit a page to the paper size:
- Choose File Page setup
from the menu
- Select the Format & Options
tab
- Select the Shrink to fit page width
option
To change the screen font sizes use keyboard shortcuts:
To increase font size:
- Press ctrl +
To decrease font size:
- Press ctrl -
For normal font size:
- Press ctrl 0
To print backgrounds such as the page banners you need to activate this printing feature.

Choose File Page setup
from the menu
- Select Print Background (colour & images)
Opera 7
The Opera 7 browser has the ability to zoom all text and images to assist poor vision users in both areas. Printing zoom can also be controlled.
To print larger:
- Choose File Print Options
from the menu
- Select the Scale to % option
To Print the Background:
- Choose File Print Options
from the menu
- Select the Print page background
option
To zoom font and image size:
- Select the zoom % from the drop list
Windows Accessibility Settings
Windows 2000 and XP operating systems provide a range of accessibility tools that assist using a computer by a person with poor vision. The following sections describe how to set up windows to enlarge text or read the text on a screen as you position your mouse around the screen.
The magnifier tool will enlarge text just like a magnifying glass where ever you move your mouse. Different levels of magnification can be selected and more permanent settings by running the Accessibility Wizard.
To Activate Magnifier:
- Click on the Start button
- Choose Programs Accessories

- Choose Magnifier
- Choose settings to suit the amount of magnification
The narrator tool reads text in the active window and assists visually impaired.
To Active Narrator:
- Click on the Start button
- Choose Programs Accessories
Accessibility
- Choose Narrator
- Choose voice pitch, speed and other settings
To use all Accessibility each time you start Windows:
- Click on the Start button
- Choose Programs Accessories
Accessibility
- Choose Accessibility Wizard
- Choose the features and follow the wizard prompts
