Vice-Chancellor and President
RoleProfessor Bill Lovegrove has been the Vice-Chancellor and President of the University of Southern Queensland since 2003. The Vice-Chancellor is the Chief Executive Officer of the University. As Chief Executive Officer he is responsible for the academic, administrative, financial and other affairs of the USQ. The Vice-Chancellor promotes the interests and furthers the development of the USQ. The Vice-Chancellor exercises general supervision over the activities and welfare of staff and students of the USQ. The Vice-Chancellor has all such powers and duties as may be necessary or convenient to enable him to carry out his responsibilities. BackgroundPrior to his appointment at USQ, Professor Lovegrove was Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research, Internationalisation and Commercialisation) at Griffith University. He has also held senior positions at the University of Wollongong after commencing his academic career at the University of Tasmania. Professor Lovegrove’s qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts, First Class Honours and Doctorate in Psychology through the University of Queensland and completion of an Advanced Executive Program from the Kellogg School of Business at North-Western University in the United States. Throughout his career Professor Lovegrove has developed a high-level international research profile in the areas of visual information processing and dyslexia.
