Fund research

Donor-funded research is a valuable way to support USQ’s existing research agenda. It enables the University to pursue a new area of research, assist research students and promote industry innovation through partnered research. The form of donor-funded research can include the support of people (from research students to early career researchers to senior researchers and professors), projects or infrastructure.

Donor-funded research scholarships

Donors can fund higher degree by research (HDR) students embarking on a masters by research or doctorate in a specific field, or support a particular type of scholarship student. Donor-funded research scholarships typically cover fees and a stipend for living costs and can be awarded to either commencing or continuing students.

Sponsored or endowed research chairs

Sponsored or endowed research chairs and professorships provide targeted support in defined research fields. Funding can be for a fixed period or in perpetuity through an endowment. Typically, a sponsored or endowed chair or professorship is named in honour of the person or organisation funding the position. Funding provides continued support for an established field of study or a new area of research. A funded research chair might participate in activities with the sponsor while also working on their own research and/or teaching.
