About the School

The vision of the School of Commerce is to produce knowledgeable graduates with the ability to analyse and interpret complex business and social issues. Our blend of classroom and on-line delivery, focus on real world issues and professional accreditation make our graduates particularly suited to today’s business world.

The School of Commerce contributes to a range of programs across the University but its particular focus is the Bachelor of Commerce degree. It also teaches postgraduate programs including the MBA and MPA. The School's disciplinary focus is in the areas of accounting, economics and politics, and finance.

Our staff are dedicated and effective teachers, active in research with strong industry linkages. Our goal is to teach and carry out research that has impact. For teaching this means that we want to nurture graduates with the attributes that employers want and who can contribute to the growth and development of their communities. For research it means that we want to make a difference in society whether it is in terms of topics as diverse as superannuation regulation or carbon mitigation on farms.
