ACC1102 Financial Accounting

In this course you will study the concepts and standards that underpin financial accounting and the financial reporting process. You will study a number of specific accounting standards and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) in this course, including accounting for assets (inventory, receivables and long-term assets, such as property, plant and equipment and intangible assets), liabilities (provisions and bonds), equity (partnerships and companies), income (revenue recognition) and expense. You will prepare financial statements for reporting entities (statement of financial position, statement of profit and loss and other comprehensive income, statement of changes in equity and statement of cash flows) and analyse the information they provide. Based on the Australian Quality Framework, the minimum Threshold Learning Outcomes for this course will be developed in the areas of Knowledge, Judgement and Application Skills.
