EDO3341 Teaching in Rural and Remote Communities

This course will emphasise issues relating to the structure of education, teaching practice, and curriculum delivery methods in rural and remote Australia. Students will explore pedagogies and supporting technologies, support for teachers in rural and remote contexts, school management issues, and processes designed to support community partnerships. Analysis of political and systemic contexts of rural and remote education will provide students with a framework for understanding the complexities of rural and remote teaching contexts. The course will provide students with an understanding of the experiences of teachers in rural and remote locations. NOTE: Minimum enrolment numbers apply to this offering. Should enrolments not reach the minimum number required for on-campus study, students may be transferred to the ONLINE offering and advised of this change before semester commences.
