EDO3681 Teaching the National Curriculum: Mathematics

Units : 1
Faculty or Section : Faculty of Business, Education, Law and Arts
School or Department : School of Teacher Education and Early Childhood

This course focuses on the mathematical content knowledge required by teachers from Prep to approximately Year 7. It will cover the content from the Australian Curriculum strands appropriate for this age range namely: Number and Algebra; Measurement and Geometry; and Probability & Statistics.

The course aims to further develop the mathematical content knowledge and provide the foundation for engaging in EDX1280, Foundations of Numeracy and EDX3280, Mathematics Curriculum and Pedagogy. The course would also be of value to students who feel they do not have an appropriate level of mathematical content knowledge to effectively teach the Australian Mathematics Curriculum to Year 7.
NOTE: Minimum enrolment numbers apply to this offering. Should enrolments not reach the minimum number required for on-campus study, students may be transferred to the ONLINE offering and advised of this change before semester commences.
