Globalisation and the global financial crisis have transformed the environment in which businesses and governments operate. POL2001 looks at the institutions of international economic governance, and then systematically examines the conflicts and debates over globalisation and free trade agreements, and over macro-economic management in the wake of the global financial crisis. Core themes are the controversies over the role of the state and international political and economic institutions in the global economy.
