Synopsis

The course is based on the premise that information systems knowledge is essential for creating competitive firms, managing global Corporations, adding business value, and providing useful products and services to customers. Accounting Information Systems is a compulsory course in the Master of Professional Accounting and meets the core knowledge requirements of the professional bodies. The course addresses accounting information systems in organisations, systems development, and the risk of fraud and cybercrime. The course also examines accounting information systems role in support of strategic and operational decision-making and problem-solving, as well as operations support and management.
