Synopsis

This course focuses on oracy as a pathway to literacy, structured text patterns of speech and written text and the correlation between western and First Nations educational systems. Using a combination of self-paced online instruction and face to face delivery, students will develop an understanding of written and spoken text patterns and apply the learned principles in a written report and an oral presentation. This course celebrates the knowledge that students bring with them and facilitates self-identification as a scholar.
