Synopsis

Using a combination of online instruction and face to face delivery students will focus on academic skills development. Conventions of academic writing and disciplinary texts will be unpacked within a distinctly First Nations context and worldview. The language skills, thinking skills and writing skills are provided in a broad context to best enable students to continue in the career of their choice. This course focuses on academic skills development associated with hearing, understanding, interpreting and writing theory in an academic context. A strong focus on academic conventions and academic writing underpin the learning objectives, with an emphasis on creative and critical thinking and argumentation in tertiary studies.
