Synopsis

This course examines in-depth the law concerning the international trade and transport of goods. It covers in-depth the law concerning:

(i) contracts for the international buying and selling of goods (focusing on trade terms, Incoterms 2010 and the CISG)

(ii) the international transport of goods by sea (focusing on bills of lading, the Hague-Visby Rules and similar regimes, and Charterparties) as well as the international transport of goods by air and land

(iii) international payments (focusing on documentary credits and the UCP 600)

(iv) the main method by which private international legal disputes relating to the buying and selling of goods are resolved, namely international commercial arbitration.
