Synopsis

The purpose of this course is to introduce students to the various ways contemporary music is situated within a theoretical and analytical framework. Students will examine ideas and issues in contemporary music research relating to the nexus of theory and practice, and apply these ideas in an analysis of key works in popular contemporary music.
