Synopsis

Applied Pathology (PMC1000) will examine why disease occurs, the way disease processes affect both individual organs and the body as a whole, and the complications that arise secondary to disease. Emphasis will be placed on disease processes that are relevant to paramedic practice to assist students to understand the causes, mechanisms and dynamics of disease. Students will also receive content on the pathophysiology of head injury and stroke. Emphasis will be placed on injury and disease processes that are relevant to paramedic practice.
