The course introduces and reviews IS project management frameworks. Participants will learn about the IS management frameworks and the ten project management knowledge areas (project integration, scope, time, cost, quality, stakeholders, resource management, communications, risk and procurement management) across the project management lifecycle of initiation, planning, executing, controlling and closing. An understanding of this facilitates a sound understanding of critical aspects of IS management, project management and change management, and educates future IS managers on how to succeed. Students need to develop the knowledge and skills required to plan, manage and implement IS projects in a business environment.
NOTE: Learners undertaking this course are required to have the ability to research with an understanding of ethical research practices. Learners are also expected to critically analyse and solve problems arising in complex organisational real-life situations.
