Synopsis
The course facilitates an understanding of the elements of safety management systems as essential aspects in the management of safety and risk within commercial aviation. Having an understanding of the components, processes, principles and management of safety management systems is essential for any manager or supervisor within the aviation system, and useful for all other personnel across the entire organisational spectrum. The course will review safety concepts and safety management principles as well as examine the key elements of a safety management system and the associated systems, processes and procedures used in achieving high safety standards in aviation organisations. There will be a strong emphasis on the importance of data driven systems and sound risk management principles.
