Students will be encouraged to reflexively explore their role in cultural practices within health care systems that impact on the health and well-being of diverse populations.
This course encourages the health professional to explore the impact of the personal upon the professional through taken for granted cultural norms within health and social care practice. Students will be encouraged to explore the notion of power and privilege through a reflexive cultural lens. Developing a skill for cultural self-awareness will empower the health care professional to contribute to cultural and organisational change within their area of professional practice.
