Synopsis
This course will examine the evolution of historical forces that have shaped Asia into the 21st century, as well as considering the way that the historical past has impacted upon current critical arguments about contemporary society, development patterns and international relationships in Asia. Case studies will be taken from the historical experiences of several states including India, Indonesia, China and Japan.
