This course provides students with their first opportunity to work with an ambulance paramedic service. Students will undertake four weeks full-time practical experience with the Queensland Ambulance Service or other placement provider.
This course is a competency-based course, and assessment items must be successfully completed to pass the course. These competency items form part of the USQ accreditation agreement with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

This course will introduce students to an experience with an emergency ambulance service. During the four weeks the student will be able to participate in the assessment and management of patients under the supervision of a qualified paramedic. Throughout this practical placement, students will be expected to participate actively and professionally in the operational environment. Students can only perform skills, procedures and tasks commensurate with their scope of practice and for which specific authorisation has been received.
